Vacant Eastern District judicial post finally filled

The U.S. Senate on Monday confirmed Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge Dale A. Drozd as a district judge in the Eastern District of California, filling a seat in Fresno that has been vacant nearly three years.

The U.S. Senate on Monday confirmed Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge Dale A. Drozd as a district judge in the Eastern District of California, filling a seat in Fresno that has been vacant nearly three years. His confirmation passed the Senate by a voice vote of 69-21.

Drozd has been a magistrate judge in Fresno since 1997, and chief magistrate judge for the past four years. His confirmation to fill the seat vacated in October ...
