Stanford Law taps new dean

University of Virginia School of Law assistant dean Mary Elizabeth Magill will take over for Larry Kramer this fall.

University of Virginia School of Law Vice Dean Mary Elizabeth Magill will become the next dean of Stanford Law School, administrators announced Tuesday.


Magill will assume her new role Sept. 1, succeeding current dean Larry Kramer. Kramer is leaving Stanford Law to become president of The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
