Bankruptcy lawyer billing rates vary by market

When it comes to how much bankruptcy lawyers charge law firm estates for their work, lawyers on the East Coast - and particularly in New York - have a leg up on other firms.

When bankruptcy lawyers bill law firm estates for their services, their rates can be divined as much by where they work as by their years of experience.


According to a Daily Journal analysis of court filings in large law firm bankruptcies, bankruptcy lawyers who work on the East Coast tend to charge more than their counterparts in California or elsewhere.
