The Senate Judiciary Committee has approved the nomination of Jesus G. Bernal to serve as a U.S. District Court judge in Riverside.
Bernal, who's served as the directing attorney of the federal public defender's Riverside office since 2006, was approved Thursday with a voice vote. His nomination now moves to the full Senate for confirmation.
