Vexatious litigants can pursue an appeal without judicial permission so long as they lost the underlying case as a defendant, the state Supreme Court has ruled.
The Thursday decision clarifies restrictions on vexatious litigants, a label placed by a judge on self-represented parties who have filed numerous lawsuits deemed to be without merit.
