Help desk software company Peregrine Systems Inc. will buy e-commerce software maker Extricity Inc. The stock deal is worth $168 million. San Diego's Peregrine makes ServiceCenter help desk software, which helps businesses handle computer network problems and monitor equipment costs. Peregrine also manufactures infrastructure resource planning software, which assists companies to optimize the use of their physical assets - from computer networks to factories and truck fleets.
