Bergna, 79, Former Santa Clara DA

SAN FRANCISCO - Louis P. Bergna, who during his 25-year stint as the Santa Clara district attorney earned a reputation for high ethical standards, died Thursday in Santa Teresa Community Hospital in South San Jose from a heart ailment. He was 79.
