Judge's Outburst Played into Defense Counsel's Hands
SAN JOSE - The Avant criminal trade secrets case, once again, has descended into farce. Nearly four years after the Santa Clara County district attorney's office filed charges against Avant, a Fremont software company, the case is again without a judge. Retired state Court of Appeal Justice Marc Poch abruptly disqualified himself Tuesday following a heated argument with defense attorney Tom Nolan.
