Sherman & Sterling: GERMANY'S SIEMENS ACQUIRES DALLAS' EFFICENT NETWORKS

Siemens AG has agreed to acquire Efficient Networks Inc. in a cash deal valued at approximately $1.5 billion. Siemens, based in Munich, Germany, is the largest electrical and engineering firm in Europe. The company offers solutions in six business segments, including information and communications, automation and control, power, transportation, medical and lighting. It has about 450,000 employees worldwide with operations in 190 countries.
