L.A. civil court veteran tapped as asbestos judge

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Emilie H. Elias has been picked as the coordinating trial judge for asbestos litigation pending in Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties.

LOS ANGELES - In a move designed to marshal dwindling court resources, a veteran of the complex civil courthouse has been appointed the asbestos coordinating judge for three of the state's largest counties.


Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Emilie H. Elias will oversee pretrial law and motions for the backlog of asbestos cases in Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties.
