Goodwin Liu was confirmed Wednesday as the state Supreme Court's newest justice, creating the court's first-ever Asian-American majority.


Liu, 40, was unanimously approved by the Commission on Judicial Appointments, which is comprised - for the first time - of all women: Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye, Attorney General Kamala Harris and 2nd District Court of Appeal Justice Joan Dempsey Klein...
