Los Angeles judge to leave bench after eight years

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Michael A. Latin will step down to pursue opportunities in the private sector.

LOS ANGELES - Superior Court Judge Michael A. Latin, a former prosecutor who reinvented himself two years ago when he moved from a criminal assignment to an unlimited civil courtroom, is retiring from public service.


Latin, who began his career in the mid-1980s with a labor and business firm before joining the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office, will leave the bench Sept. 2.
