9th Circuit conference proceeds at luxury resort, despite looming budget cuts
Despite another circuit's decision to cancel its annual conference in the face of budget cuts, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is going ahead Monday with its event at a luxury resort on Carlsbad.

As the nation's deepening financial crisis slams federal courts, judges and lawyers of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will be at their annual conference at the La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad.
The conference starts Monday and runs four days, complete with tennis, golf and dinner dances and an excursion to the USS Midway in San Diego harbor.
