New Fees More Onerous Than Expected

SAN FRANCISCO - Trial court lawyers are up in arms about new and increased court filing fees, arguing that their support for the hikes was based on the understanding that the fees for complex cases would be assessed on a per case basis rather than on the prohibitively expensive per plaintiff plan the Legislature approved.
