Patent holders moved lawsuits south in 2013
Plaintiffs are shifting their new patent lawsuits away from the Central District of California and toward the Southern District of California, according to a new report from Menlo Park-based patent litigation data firm Lex Machina.

Plaintiffs are shifting their new patent lawsuits away from the Central District of California and toward the Southern District of California, according to a new report from patent litigation data firm Lex Machina.
Plaintiffs filed 399 patent suits in the Central District in 2013, 100 fewer compared to 2012, while 227 patent complaints were filed in the Southern District, up 86 from 2012.
