Bill to scuttle high-speed rail falls short

Legislative efforts to challenge the project were derailed Tuesday in the Senate's Transportation and Housing Committee.

Opponents of the state's High Speed Rail project have sued the state in court, receiving multiple favorable rulings from Sacramento County Superior Court Judge Michael Kenny. But legislative efforts to challenge the project were derailed Tuesday in the Senate's Transportation and Housing Committee.
