WilmerHale hosts robot block party in Palo Alto
Some of the latest innovations in robot technology were on display April 9 at a "robot block party" hosted by Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP's Palo Alto office. A packed crowd of students, hobbyists, entrepreneurs and engineers flocked to the event to kindle their shared enthusiasm for robotics and show off the capabilities of their latest inventions, which included everything from novel ball-tossing bots to machines used in surgical applications. "Moving the Robot Block Party … to a law firm that specializes in business and high technology symbolizes the emergence of the robotics industry from the lab and into the commercial mainstream," said Andra Keay, the managing director of Silicon Valley Robotics, which hosted the event along with WilmerHale. — Dominic Fracassa
