Merck's Lawyers Are Glad to Try Only One Vioxx Case

LOS ANGELES - Lawyers for Merck & Co. were pleased with this week's decision by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge to try only one case instead of two in California's first Vioxx trial.
      Jurors will decide Merck's liability in the case of Stewart Grossberg, who sued Merck after he had a heart attack in 2001 at 63 after using Vioxx.
