Moises Sanchez-Llamas, a Mexican citizen, was arrested in rural Oregon on Dec. 18, 1999, on a charge of attempted murder. His arrest was the result of a 3 a.m. shooting match with police in which an officer was wounded. He was convicted by the Oregon court on 11 counts, including aggravated attempted murder, and sentenced to 24 months in prison.
