Brown's AG nomination may help cement criminal justice legacy
Gov. Jerry Brown's nomination Thursday of U.S. Rep. Xavier Becerra, D-Los Angeles, as the new state attorney general appears to have been made with an eye on cementing some of the governor's achievements in criminal justice reform, legal observers said.

SACRAMENTO — Gov. Jerry Brown's nomination Thursday of U.S. Rep. Xavier Becerra, D-Los Angeles, as the new state attorney general appears to have been made with an eye on cementing some of the governor's achievements in criminal justice reform, legal observers said.
The vacancy was created when Attorney General Kamala D. Harris easily won a U.S. Senate seat on Nov. 8.
