Turtles settlement could be as high as $99 million

The amount ultimately depends on the result of appeals in California, Florida and New York.

A class of pre-1972 song owners will be entitled to as much as $99 million from Sirius XM Radio Inc. should a preliminary settlement filed Monday be approved.

The proposed settlement guarantees at least $25 million for the class, a group of pre-1972 song owners led by plaintiffs Flo & Eddie Inc. who claimed that Sirius XM played their music in violation of state copyright laws.
