Wal-Mart truckers to get $54.9M

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. was hit with a $54.9 million verdict Wednesday after a California federal jury found the national retailer liable for failing to adequately compensate a class of more than 800 of its truck drivers.

SAN FRANCISCO — Wal-Mart Stores Inc. was hit with a $54.9 million verdict Wednesday after a California federal jury found the national retailer liable for failing to adequately compensate a class of more than 800 of its truck drivers.

The jury found that Wal-Mart failed to pay drivers minimum wage on more than 100,000 pay periods from October 2007 to October 2015.
