California bar exam pass rate lowest in 32 years

The 43 percent pass rate has left leaders of ABA law schools deeply concerned.

The 43 percent passage rate on California's July bar exam was the lowest for a summer or fall administration of the test in 32 years and has left law school officials deeply distressed.

Of the 7,737 applicants who took the exam, just 3,332 passed, resulting in a success rate 3.6 percent lower than on the July test last year, according to figures the State Bar released Friday evening.
