Evidence tampering 'joke' prompts district attorney suspension

Kern County prosecutor Robert Murray altered evidence, prompting a case's dismissal.

A Kern County prosecutor accused of tampering with evidence in a case against an accused child molester, a "joke" that prompted the case's dismissal, is facing a one-year suspension of his law license.

The Kern County district attorney's office brought charges against Efrain Velasco-Palacios, a man accused of sexually assaulting the 10-year-old daughter of his girlfriend.
