Judge rules water company stays in private hands

The city of Claremont's bid to take over a private water company via eminent domain was denied by a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge.

A Los Angeles County judge has tentatively denied the city of Claremont's bid to take over its private water company, ruling the city did not justify how it would make the facility "a more necessary public use" under eminent domain laws.
