State Bar seeks more money for victims of attorney theft

The agency is also asking the state's high court to fund technology upgrades in 2017.

The State Bar has asked the state Supreme Court to allow it to collect an additional $4.66 million from lawyers next year to bolster its significantly underfunded Client Security Fund, which reimburses victims of attorney theft and other wrongdoing.
