At least $30.5 million to be awarded in mortgage fraud lending case

A Los Angeles County jury has awarded $30.5 million in a fraudulent mortgage lending case and could order more.

A woman who fell victim to a fraudulent mortgage loan has been awarded $30.5 million by a Los Angeles County Superior Court jury and could win more in a case plaintiffs' attorneys say is an overdue victory for victims of foreclosure abuse born of the financial crisis.

Arguments over punitive damages are scheduled Tuesday.
