In Pierotti v. Torian, 81 Cal.App.4th 17 (2000), the appellate court has issued another opinion in support of the finality of arbitration awards The appellate court affirmed the Superior Court's confirmation of an arbitrator's award of compensatory damages, punitive damages and $363,512.92 in attorney fees and costs, then ordered $32,000 in sanctions in part because the appeal was frivolous.
