Humboldt Families Want Judge Recused

SAN FRANCISCO - Lawyers for 14 families whose Humboldt County homes were damaged in a 1996 mudslide want to remove a judge who is slated to decide whether two timber companies are liable, charging he is biased because he once represented the companies and because one of the plaintiffs is an unhappy former client.
