Politics, Egos Have No Place In Agencies Such as the FDA
Blowing more smoke than Phillip Morris, the FDA finally banned Warner-Lambert's "miracle" drug Rezulin from the market March 21. "We are now confident that patients have safe alternatives," said Dr. Janet Woodcock, the director of the FDA's drug evaluation unit, finally pulling the plug on the deadly drug nearly 2 1/2 years after the FDA first received reports that the drug caused liver failure.
