Protests continued to escalate Friday over the protesters expected at the Democratic National Convention, as the Los Angeles City Council reversed its earlier decision designating downtown's Pershing Square as an official protest site - despite concerns that the alternative being offered by the Los Angeles Police Department is a fenced-in area nearly three football fields away from the Staples Center.
