Conceptus wins $18.8 million infringment suit

Mountain View-based Conceptus Inc. won an $18.8 million jury award in its patent infringement lawsuit against Hologic Inc. over the companies' competing permanent birth control systems.

Mountain View-based Conceptus Inc. has won an $18.8 million jury award in its patent infringement lawsuit against Hologic Inc. over the companies' competing permanent birth control systems.


A federal jury in San Francisco said late Monday that Hologic infringed two of Conceptus' patents for its Essure procedure. Conceptus Inc. v. Hologic Inc., CV09-02280 (N.D. Cal., filed May 5, 2009)....
