Real estate mogul sentenced to 7 years

A businessman whom critics labeled the Bernie Madoff of Beverly Hills was sentenced Tuesday to 7 years in federal prison for stealing nearly $21 million from four of his investor-clients.

LOS ANGELES - A businessman whom critics labeled the Bernie Madoff of Beverly Hills was sentenced Tuesday to seven years in federal prison for stealing nearly $21 million from four clients who allowed his company to hold their money in safekeeping before it was reinvested in real property.
