A tip to students led to inmate's release

Law students at Santa Clara and Loyola law schools who run two innocence projects won the release of a convicted murderer this week after 3 years of work by more than a dozen law students.

The tip that ultimately sprung a convicted murderer from prison this week came three years ago.


Law students and professors who run innocence projects at Santa Clara and Loyola law schools got the tip from a San Diego criminal defense attorney who had just freed Reggie Cole, a man convicted of a 1994 murder.
