Court and Fiction Do Not Mix
Focus Column - By Thomas Brennan - In her summation in the Winona Ryder case, Beverly Hills Assistant District Attorney Ann Rundle mentioned the movie "Girl, Interrupted," in which Ryder starred. Rundle noted that in the movie, Ryder's fictional character, Susana, speaks about shoplifting: "I get a thrill from walking out of the store without paying for things." This should disturb all American citizens concerned with their rights.
