SAN JOSE - The first cases in a mammoth wave of litigation by high-tech workers against International Business Machines Inc., which starts jury selection today, will turn on two questions: Did the plaintiffs get sick because of exposure to chemicals they worked with on the job, and did the company know of the dangers but fail to tell them?
