Forcible Medication of Offenders Debated

LOS ANGELES - Can a mentally ill criminal offender locked up in a state hospital be forcibly medicated? The California Supreme Court wrestled Wednesday with whether ex-convicts committed as "mentally disordered offenders" lose the right to refuse anti-psychotic drugs if state psychiatrists deem them too dangerous to themselves or others.
