Bryan Cave Pays Swindler-Client's Bankruptcy Estate
Bryan Cave has agreed to settle claims of negligence over its representation of swindler Reed Slatkin. The firm will pay $650,000 to the bankruptcy estate of Slatkin, who last month was sentenced to 14 years in prison for defrauding hundreds of investors through an elaborate scheme. The trustee in the Slatkin bankruptcy case alleged that Bryan Cave failed to recognize possible signs that Slatkin was conning investors.
