Cuts Would Hurt Defendants, Lawyers Say

SAN DIEGO - The criminal defense system for those who can't afford lawyers would be dealt a severe blow if the San Diego County Board of Supervisors approves proposed job cuts in the offices of the public defender and alternate public defender, lawyers said Wednesday.
