A Driven Idealist

SAN FRANCISCO - When she entered the fold of family lawyers, Rebecca L. Wightman was greeted with a shotgun. Wightman herself was not in the gun's sights, but her process server found himself looking down the barrel as he tried to serve divorce papers on a angry husband. It was Wightman's first family law case, and the incident left an impression: She didn't return to the field for several years.
