Lawyer Created Attorney-Discipline System

SAN FRANCISCO - Francis P. Bassios, nationally recognized for his contributions to attorney regulation for the State Bar of California, died Saturday at California Pacific Medical Center here after a yearlong bout with lung cancer. He was 59.
