Marriage Suits Combined
SAN FRANCISCO - A San Francisco judge has joined together two lawsuits seeking to give same-sex couples the right to marry. Superior Court Judge James L. Warren consolidated the two lawsuits Thursday, one filed by the city (CCSF v. State, 429539) and another by a coalition of lawyers on behalf of six same-sex couples (Woo v. Lockyer, 504038). Both suits seek a judicial declaration that family codes excluding same-sex couples from marriage are unconstitutional.
