Native American Inmate Sues Over Hair Policy

RIVERSIDE - The American Civil Liberties Union and a Los Angeles law firm filed a lawsuit Wednesday on behalf of a Native American inmate who claims the state Department of Corrections is flouting federal law by trying to force him to cut his hair in violation of his religious beliefs.
