Running the Numbers

Nearly 60 percent of applicants passed the July 2013 General Bar Examination, State Bar officials reported Monday. Of the 8,900 applicants who took the exam, 74.6 percent were first-time takers. The passing rate for the 6,636 first-time applicants was 68 percent. The passing rate for the 2,264 applicants repeating the examination was 21 percent. Here's a breakdown of passage rates by law school type.
