GOP Bills Try to Rein In Courts

WASHINGTON - On March 9, Rep. Ron Lewis, R-Ky., with the support of 19 of his Republican colleagues, introduced a bill that would fundamentally alter the balance of power between the legislative and judicial branches by giving Congress the authority to override Supreme Court decisions with a two-thirds vote, just as it can override a presidential veto.
