Cisco acquires Internet security company Sourcefire Inc.

Cisco Systems Inc. announced Tuesday its pending acquisition of Internet security and firewall company Sourcefire Inc. for $2.7 billion. Fenwick & West LLP represented Cisco, while Morrison & Foerster LLP worked on behalf of Sourcefire.

Fenwick & West LLP is counseling Cisco Systems Inc. in its pending acquisition of Internet security and firewall company Sourcefire Inc. for $2.7 billion. Morrison & Foerster LLP represents Sourcefire.


Observers view the buy as a substantial move by Cisco to expand its portfolio of Internet security offerings for large corporate clients and the U.S. government.
