King succeeds Collins as Central District chief judge

U.S. District Judge George H. King took over as chief judge of the Central District at the end of business day on Friday, the clerk of court has announced.

LOS ANGELES - U.S. District Judge George H. King took over as chief judge of the Central District at the end of business day on Friday, the clerk of court has announced.

King, whom President Bill Clinton nominated as a district judge in 1995 and who previously served for eight years as a U.S. magistrate judge, succeeds Chief U.S. District Court Judge Audrey B. Collins. Collins assumed the role of chief judge in 2009.
