San Francisco plaintiff's attorney wins wrongful death verdict

A San Francisco-based plaintiff's attorney on Wednesday obtained a jury verdict for more than $1 million in damages in a wrongful death case. But the damages might be capped at $250,000 under state law.

A San Francisco-based plaintiff's attorney on Wednesday obtained a jury verdict for more than $1 million in damages in a wrongful death case. But the damages might be capped at $250,000 under the state's 1975 Medical Injury Compensation Reform Act (MICRA).
