Lawyer to be arraigned for stealing from clients' settlements

An Irvine lawyer faces felony embezzlement and forgery charges for allegedly stealing $150,000 from five personal injury clients. He has agreed to be disbarred.

SANTA ANA - An Irvine lawyer is scheduled to be arraigned today on charges he embezzled more than $150,000 from five personal-injury clients.


The State Bar Court has already recommended Tuan Thanh Tran, 43, be disbarred and ordered to return a total of $171,000 to 13 clients. The court put him on inactive enrollment in late June.
