State Bar moves closer to buying LA headquarters
A State Bar committee decides today whether to pursue formal negotiations to buy a new headquarters building in Los Angeles.

The State Bar is close to deciding on buying a building for its Los Angeles headquarters, a city where it has rented space since 1986.
A committee of the bar's Board of Trustees is scheduled to hold a special meeting today to authorize formal negotiations over several properties in the general downtown area, with the goal of determining whether any might meet the bar's needs.
